All new volunteers must attend an Orientation and Training to learn about our values, their responsibilities as volunteers, and the context of our work in Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside.

About Sticky Rice Collective:

The Sticky Rice Collective is a group of youth who collaboratively plan intergenerational events in Chinatown. Previously, we have planned picnics, game show events, and festival celebrations. This year, intergenerational events at Chinese senior residential buildings will be our main focus.

About Medical Accompaniment:

Yarrow’s most commonly requested service is medical accompaniment. Medical Accompaniment Volunteers support Chinese seniors in accessing healthcare by accompanying them to medical accompaniments, providing support on public transportation to and from appointments, and providing Chinese-English interpretation.
